Art Workshops at BICAS

We periodically host art workshops at BICAS! These workshops are different from our weekly Crafternoons, in that they are paid classes which focus on a specific skill or medium. We also collaborate with other artists for workshops!

Spring Art Workshops (2025)

Thursday, April 17th 5 PM to 8 PM
Bike Books

Come join a poetry workshop–zine incubator–evening spent writing with friends facilitated by Nellie Papsdorf and hosted by BICAS. Practice writing, zine-making, and mixed media art fun. Prepare for guerilla publication in the fight against boring publishing industry monopolies.

Write bike odes. Write records, poems, comics, recipes. Write whatever you want, make a bunch of copies the next day surreptitiously using your office’s printer, and spread the love at Tucson Zine Fest a few days later.

$0-30, NOTAFLOF. All proceeds split between BICAS and Read Between the Bars.

Teacher: Nellie

Wednesday, April 30th 2 PM to 5 PM

Teaching artists of any experience level are welcome to apply, from first-time teachers to seasoned instructors. We are interested in all kinds of art (with a preference for the bicycle inspired!), so long as the workshop remains in line with our mission of accessibility to the arts!
