Earn-A-Bike is a bicycle repair course in which youth ages 8 to 18 learn bicycle mechanics, practice tangible skills, build self confidence, and earn a bike! Over the course of the program participants will overhaul a bicycle earning credit for their attendance and participation. At the end of the course students will demonstrate safe riding skills and take home their newly refurbished bike with a helmet and lock.
In pairs, students will work together to learn bicycle repair and repair each others bicycles. During this multi-session class youth develop problem solving skills, self confidence, group and leadership skills, environmental awareness, and community appreciation.
Youth Earn-A-Bike is offered on a sliding scale from $25 – $200 per student.
All of our in-person youth programs are currently on hold due to the COVID19 pandemic, including Youth Drop In, Youth Earn-a-Bike, and youth community service.
For young people ages 8-18 needing a bike while the shop space is closed, we have launched a *Virtual* Youth Earn-a-Bike course!
