Shop 50% off in the Bikes Not Bombs Sale July 6th to July 20th!
To make bicycles more accessible during this growing surge in need, we are having a massive sale: not only in the face of rising cost of living and gasoline prices on our communities; but, through promoting cycling, to withhold compliance with the United States war machine’s unconscionable pursuit of oil theft and its cost on communities abroad.
July 6th to July 20th:
All bikes, used bike parts, bike bags, apparel, shoes, frames, and wheel sets, will be 50% off
What would soon become BICAS began with Tucson community members involved in the international Bikes Not Bombs movement in the 1980s, sending bicycles to support Nicaraguan empowerment through transportation access, in opposition to the United States-backed bombing.
As BICAS’ focus grounded locally to addressing this same need in Tucson, the bicycle as a tool for liberation has remained key in fortifying not only our local communities, but in opposing the United States’ active bombing of communities overseas for oil.
Transportation access opens doors. Each BICAS purchase funds this access and self-empowering mechanics education: increasingly needed in the face of rising US militarism-driven prices, predatory housing and rising houselessness, extreme heat, state surveillence, unwalkable employment and education, inequitably distributed public transit, systemic overpolicing, and groundwater theft for data centers in marginalized communities. Bicycles are powerful tools against crises that undermine communities daily; alongside mechanics skills to equip the people we’re honored to work with in transforming their own lives.
