BICAS is hiring for the Shop Mechanic position and the Youth Programs Coordinator position.

Are you good with customer service? Does hands-off bike mechanics teaching, donation reception, and nonprofit collective governance, appeal to you? Do you have a passion for bikes and working in our community?

Do you like working with youth? Does coordinating youth camps, hands-off youth bike mechanics instruction, and nonprofit collective governance, appeal to you?

This is a non-exempt position as defined in the Fair Labor Standards Act.

All positions will be cross trained in bicycle mechanics and business administration. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the bicycle as a sustainable, equitable, and healthy form of transportation.BICAS applicants should also be interested in behind-the-scenes work such as HR, social media, fundraising, and nonprofit management.

BICAS staff frequently work with youth, houseless, refugee, immigrant, and low-income populations.Experience working with these populations in any capacity is a plus, as is being multilingual. We encourage those who can work our WTF (Women, Transgender, Femme) workshop to apply. Bicycle mechanical knowledge is not required but is desired. The ability to teach in a patient, compassionate, and hands­-off manner is necessary.Some evening and weekend availability is expected, as well as some work outside the shop, for example: administrative tasks, outreach events, teaching classes, etc.
