The BICAS wheelbuild class takes you step by step through the process of building a bicycle wheel. Learn how to customize that perfect wheel for your bicycle and understand how the bicycle wheel works!
Topics covered:
- Wheel anatomy and vocabulary
- Basic Theory
- Measuring and calculating spoke length
- Wheel lacing
- Tensioning and trueing
This is a two day class, each session meets for 3 hours. The class is very small and hands on! Each student will learn how to build a basic rear wheel for BICAS. Each student will leave with worksheets and directions on how to repeat this process for their own customized wheel during BICAS open shop hours.
Please wear clothes that can get dirty and greasy.
