BICAS Covid-19 responce:
We are suspending our in-person summer programming at this time in response to the growing number of Covid-19 cases in the Pima County area.
While there are many unknowns regarding the time frame of the global response to end this pandemic, we remain committed to offering opportunities for Tucson’s young people to keep their minds and hands engaged in skill building activities that foster community. We are investigating virtual learning options and at home activities we hope to make available in late summer or fall.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
BICAS Summer Camp
BICAS offers Summer Camps for youth ages 8-18 throughout the months of June and July. Register now to save your spot and spend your summer with new friends while learning all about bikes and creative recycling.
Youth Earn-A-Bike (YEAB) is a 5 day bicycle repair course in which youth ages 8 to 18 learn how to overhaul a bicycle through engaging hands on activities. At the end of the course students demonstrate safe riding skills on a neighborhood ride and take home their newly refurbished bicycle with a helmet and lock.
2020 Kids’ Art Camp will feature the theme ‘Imagine your Dream Bicycle,’ based off the 2020 Pima County Library children’s summer reading theme, ‘Imagine your Story.’ Participants ages 8-13 will spend 5 mornings dreaming and building a miniature version of their dream bicycle using paint, paper and recycled bicycle parts. All art creations will be taken home at the end of the course. Two creations per participant will be displayed in Joel D. Valdez Main Library for one month.
