BICAS in the news: our media archive

Organized by date of publication, below is a listing of newspaper articles, TV shows, radio programs, independent films: media by others directly about BICAS, peripherally about BICAS, or in some cases even minor mentions of BICAS (to not see the latter, set Relevance below to “High”).

The purpose of this archive is three-fold: to help us maintain an institutional memory of past projects and activities, to gauge our level of visibility in the community (for more on that, take a look at media statistics), and to help potential donors and grantors understand the relevance of supporting our operation. If you know of media items missing from this archive, please contact us and let us know!

6th Street and the Tracks: BICAS

View online

Summary: Early footage of BICAS, including the Youth Bike Underground, narrated mostly by Kim Young. Includes interviews with Kim Young, Rod Lancaster, Allen Reilley, and Mark Gifford. Topics include the move from Young's space to current location, gender issues with girls and boys learning bicycle mechanics, and the old window-only entrance to BICAS. (Video has a couple spots of lengthy black silence --- remain patient: more interesting footage follows!)
